Listuguj - Athletes from Listuguj who attended the North American Indigenous Games in British Columbia were given a rousing welcome home on Aug. 12.
When the athletes arrived by bus, they were greeted outside Wysote's store by Chief Allison Metallic and others, after which they were taken across the street and seated in a float. With a police car in the lead, they were then taken in a procession of horn-honking cars and trucks around Listuguj. The procession ended at the Elders' Lodge, where a lunch had been prepared for them and parents and friends were waiting.
