Penelakut man to cycle for cancer cause

Steve Sxwithul'txw is riding for two reasons: for his sister, and for all First Nations individuals who are battling cancer.

This coming June, Sxwithul'txw, a member of the Penelakut Tribe who was raised in Duncan, will be among several cyclists travelling from Vancouver to Seattle in the Ride to Conquer Cancer, which benefits the BC Cancer Foundation.

Galusha stuns Jones, leaving Mallett alone on top at Scotties

Northwest Territories skip Kerry Galusha can't recall the last time she played a close game against Team Canada at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

She won't have trouble remembering the answer to that question anymore. Galusha's Yellowknife rink staged the biggest upset of the Canadian women's curling championship Tuesday night, downing Jennifer Jones 10-8 in Draw 11 action in front of an electric crowd of 2,448 at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.
