We will work in partnership with existing galleries in the city of Vancouver to strengthen relations and cross promote emerging and existing artists. Through this project, Nunavut is committed to showcasing emerging artists who do not have an existing presence with the galleries in Vancouver.
This search will focus on representation from the following groups of artists:

• 1 Jewelry Maker
• 1 Print Maker
• 1 Doll Artist
• 1 Wall Hanging Artist
• 1 Carver

There will be a sixth place held for one additional artist of no specific genre. All applications will be accepted and considered. Artists working in multiple genres are encouraged to apply. The selection will come down to need and programming opportunities that arise for participation in games time activities.

Applications should be submitted to the Nunavut Arts and Crafts Association by October 20th 2009.

Northern kids benefit from donated sports gear

Not long ago, a community in Canada's arctic decided the time had come to build a hockey arena.

After it was completed, the men, women and children of Kimmirut, Nunavut, stood around it and congratulated themselves on a job well done.
